Aledade's Expert Panelists on: Building on the Basics of Value-Based Care: Addressing Top Concerns

This session is brought to you by Aledade.

The national shift from a fee-for-service system to one based on value is speeding up, leading community health centers to explore joining an Accountable Care Organization (ACO). Too often, however, concerns about risk, practice readiness and limited resources get in the way of the multitude of benefits that would come from joining a physician-led ACO.

Together, we will review the physician-led ACO model; explore the three most common concerns about joining an ACO; examine the benefits of joining an ACO for medical practices of all sizes and types; and consider how ACOs will shape the future of medicine for primary care and specialties.

Aledade's Beau Boyd on: Protecting Primary Care: Practical Solutions to Address the Workforce Shortage

This session is brought to you by Aledade.

The primary care workforce is on the front lines of the healthcare system and is essential to ensuring the public’s health. Primary care is the only component of our health care system where an increased supply is directly associated with better population health and more equitable outcomes. Despite this, under investment in primary care has been a chronic problem in America. Primary care is grappling with an acute workforce shortage, where not only primary care clinicians, but also clinical support staff, are in short supply.

Together, we'll discuss the primary care workforce shortage, its causes and its effects; Hear ideas from primary care organizations which will provide a resulting framework for examining the challenge; Learn real-life strategies and pilot programs implemented to help retain staff at practices and medical organizations and expand access to primary care in their region; Apply recommendations on how stakeholders can help ensure the future of primary care in America.
