Jo has been Office Manager of Pediatric Associates of Richmond for 12 years. The 50+ year practice currently has 13 Physicians, four Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (three of whom are certified lactation consultants) and a full-service lab. The practice is committed to helping nursing mothers and was the first in the area to open an in-office lactation center with on-site consultants. Jo’s physicians are consistently included in Richmond Magazine’s “Top Docs” and Style Magazine’s “Favorite Pediatricians.”
In 1986, Pediatric Associates of Richmond added early-morning and evening office hours to better serve its patients. In 2006-07, the practice transitioned to a fully integrated Pulse Electronic Health Record system. The office is currently undergoing a decorating facelift. But despite all the changes, the beloved “turtle tank” remains the center of attention in the reception area for its young patients.
This close-knit practice considers it an honor and a privilege to care for children in the Richmond area. The staff finds great joy in watching patients grow from infancy to young adulthood. Many former patients have returned to the practice with their own children and grandchildren.
When not managing her busy practice, Jo enjoys reading, walking, painting wine bottles and checking the Weather Channel for the latest forecast. She also is co-authoring and illustrating a travelogue with one of her co-workers.
