Michael Stout receives Outstanding Achievement Award

Michael Stout accepts the VMGMA/Medical Mutual Outstanding Achievement Award from Jim Kay, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Medical Mutual.

Michael Stout, Chief Executive Officer of Lakeview Medical Center in Suffolk, Va., received the Virginia Medical Group Management Association/ Medical Mutual Outstanding Achievement Award at the VMGMA Spring Conference on March 22 in Hot Springs, Va.

Mr. Stout was recognized for his exceptional leadership, vision and determination in addressing significant and unexpected changes that took place in Lakeview’s pediatric department in spring 2009. His commitment to the delivery of high-quality care for patients and his concern for the staff were unwavering throughout the ordeal. Mr. Stout’s proactive and resolute action plan enabled the organization to avert a potential loss of market share and revenue for the clinic and its ancillary services.

The VMGMA/Medical Mutual Outstanding Achievement Award is given annually to honor an active VMGMA member who has demonstrated leadership, expertise, experience and vision during a specific event or throughout a career. The award recipient receives a $2,000 educational scholarship sponsored by Medical Mutual to be used for attendance at the MGMA National Conference. He or she also receives free registration and hotel accommodations to the VMGMA Spring Conference, where the award is presented and featured in the VMGMA e-newsletter, Practice Notes.
